The original is charcoal. This piece is based on Blessed Ludovica Albertoni by Bernini at the Church of San Francesco a Ripa in Rome. When I saw the original sculpture, I wanted to climb up on it, to feel the amazing details in the hope of transferring my experience to this 2D version. I can only hope that my effort comes close.
