Greetings from Svalbard, Norway!

Greetings from Svalbard, Norway!  Yup, you read the correctly....if you look at a globe, you'll find Svalbard in the high arctic.  How did I find myself at the "top of the World" you might ask - I blame Netflix, happily!  The short story is that in the winter of 2023 I was watching "Restaurants At The End Of The World" and the host Kristen Kish (@kristenlkish), an American chef (Top Chef Winner, among her many talents) went to Svalbard (check out S1, E2, Norway's Touch of Madness) and I was absolutely smitten and just had to see it for myself - wildlife, unspoiled landscapes, icebergs and more (but don't take my word for it - watch the episode and then go to https://en.visitsvalbard.com).   

As for my visit - it was fabulous.  I had the good fortune to travel on an expedition boat with only a few guests, crew, two guides, and adventures on zodiacs.  We had the great good luck to see polars bears, many polar bears over many days (yes, I shot every one of the images that I offer for sale) in their own unspoiled environment - being curious, charming, carefree, and nonplussed by we humans - we were unhurried watching them hunt, nap, swim, and wander.  We even had some National Geographic moments of one polar bear engaging with more than a few walruses.  I could go on for days - I carry with me to this day the sense of wonder, awe, and inspiration that I can hope you can see reflected in my "Wildlife of Svalbard, Norway" collection.
