Do you change the artwork that you hang in your home?

I collect art from other artists. As you know, when I travel, I visit art galleries, among other places. It never fails that I find something I like - sometimes I buy it, sometimes I covet it, and sometimes I just preserve the memory of seeing new and exciting pieces and keep a long-distance eye on the artist to see what they produce in the future. I also have a collection of my own original paintings - it isn't often that I sell an original. And, finally, I have art that my parents and grandparents collected - not of any particular style, but nice enough that I too kept it.
I have art hanging on my walls in a gallery-style because I don't have a lot of wall space; but not all of the art I have is hanging throughout the year. I like to decorate for the seasons and that includes swapping out my art. I bring out the flower print pillows and artwork of lakeside sunsets in the Spring, the pumpkin themed placemats and cemetery art in the Fall, and the Snowman dust collectors and polar bear and walrus prints from my trip to the High Arctic after taking down the Christmas season decor. I also have some big canvas paintings that I swap as the year goes by.
I enjoy not seeing the same pieces on the walls every day of every year. I enjoy bringing out the pieces that I haven't seen for a while (and recently I've begun having pieces reframed to freshen them up too - I highly recommend it!). Overall, like remembering a favorite song or scent from another time, bringing pieces from storage is like finding an old friend - it refreshes me and my space.
If you have art under the bed, or in a closet, or don't hang it because the frame is dated, think about switching things up - a change here or there does wonders for the soul!
